The Bishop Estate is no more. (Kamehameha Schools is its new name). The speaker at our April 21 meeting, Colbert Matsumoto, played a pivotal role in removing the trustees. Although he has turned down a number of requests to speak about his Bishop Estate experience, he thinks the League of Women Voters provides a good venue.

Having Colbert Matsumoto speak to us advances our environmental agenda as well. As a member of the Board of Land and Natural Resources, his name comes up regularly in Environment Hawaii's reports of Board meetings, "Board Talk". His questions and motions support the public interest in common sense ways.
