Nurse Vote Count on March 26
League has been assured by the Hawaii Nurses Association leadership and attorneys that the vote count will proceed as scheduled on Saturday, March 26 at the ILWU Headquarters located at 451 Atkinson Drive. We will be working in the 2nd Floor Conference Room. There should be adequate parking in the back of the building. Work will begin at 9 am, and we will continue until the count is completed. Lunch will be provided by the union.
WARNING: The initial work for the vote count will be more complicated than normal! Veteran vote-counters will recognize this immediately. Newcomers to vote counting will learn the system fairly quickly. Concentration will be the slogan for the day. This election is mired in controversy within the union, so we will be under close scrutiny by observers throughout the day. We must eliminate all socializing among us as we work, to eliminate the appearance of lack of concentration. Any perceived or real errors on our part may open the election to challenges by any of the factions involved in the election.
All Leaguers who are able to give the League the day on Saturday, March 26, please call the office at 531-7448 and volunteer your service. Those who can take riders and those who need a ride, please tell us so you can be matched up.
