Transit Alternatives Report Due in Fall

Plans for rail transit are moving along. The City Department of Transportation Services (DTS) held public meetings in mid-December for the Alternatives Analysis on the Honolulu High-Capacity Transit Corridor Project. While improved bus service was presented as one of the alternatives, it was given short shrift in the citys brochure requesting public comment.

DTS plans to issue the Alternatives Analysis report in the Fall 2006 for the City Council to hold public hearings. The City Council will select a locally preferred alternative by December 2006.
