And Now for the Big NewsSaimin Nets the League $2,000.
This is a conservative figure; final returns may go higher.
More than 200 volunteers staffed the saimin stand, a quarter of them LWV members, the remainder recruited by team leaders. The 6-hour shifts entailed hard physical labor but, according to some workers, plenty of fun. The LWV is most appreciative of the fine contribution of all who helped, and extends special thanks to team leaders.
Most of all we are grateful to our Finance Chairman, Alison MacBride, who sold the idea to the Board, whipped the organization into shape, kept it selling saimin at top speed, and came through with such success.
