At the Units
Between Congressional sessions it is customary for League members all over the country to arrange interviews with their own Congressmen.
In accordance with this plan, Opal Sloane and Liesel Philipp called on Senator Fong last month, to acquaint him the League's national program and to present him with the League's publication "World Economic Development". Opal was unable to secure an appointment with Senator Long, but had a talk with him by telephone. Both senators were most friendly and receptive, and expressed interest in the League's program.
Blanche Smith and Laura Draper called upon Acting-Mayor Charles G Clark, to tell him of the League's interest in city affairs, especially in relation to the charter, the jail and the coroner's office. Mr. Clark was cordial and helpful.
