In between the League's Biennial National Conventions the National Council meets to give guidance to the national Board on national Program, methods of work, budget, and to adopt a budget for the ensuing year. Each State League is entitled to two delegates and states without a state League may send one delegate chosen by the local Leagues in the State.

For the first time Hawaii is represented at a National Council meeting, for Dr. Teru Togasaki, President of the Honolulu LWV, left Friday night (May 3) for New York and Washington, D.C. and a special one-day briefing session at the U.N. on Monday, May 6, and council sessions from May 7 to May 10. (She will return on Friday, May 17).

Delegates will have an opportunity for conversation with their congressional representatives at a "coffee hour" on May 8th.

Teru will be reporting on her trip to the Honolulu League and also to the Hilo Provisional League.
