Memo from the President

Now that we have passed the New Year, and you are all recovered from the effects of the holidays, let us really get moving on League work. There is much to be done --- exciting things, fund things, and informative things. It will take the combined effort of all of us to make the League of Honolulu the effective organization it should and can be.

Our units in early January will be on Local Program and Program Planning for next year. You should be at the units to help select the Best item for the League study. Later in the month, we are having an exciting luncheon meeting on our National Item -- Development of Human Resources, followed in February with units on the same item. These are two meetings you can't afford to miss. Later in February, our-Annual Finance Drive begins -- we will need many hands to help with this. As you know, the major part of our Budget is financed by contributions -- we cannot afford to have less than a HUGE SUCCESS in this area.

March brings us to a milestone in our League life -- the State Convention -- our first. I am looking forward to a great Convention and am glad you will be able to share in the type of excitement I experienced at the National Convention. Plans are already underway for this. As an added delight, Mrs. Stuart, our National President, will be coming for the State Convention, along with Mrs. Zurbach - our cup runneth over!

So to each of you, a request that you plan to make 1965 the year that you give more than ever of yourself to the League. As I have said many times, "the League is only as strong as its members."
