What's it all mean? The new LWV secret code we have all been waiting for? Or maybe the puzzle feature our new "Voter" editor promised during her campaign!! WRONG!!
Here is a hint: the first initials represent the major legislation enacted by the 38th and 89th Congresses in connection with President Johnson's anti-poverty program. The next five are abbreviations for various aspects of that legislation as it is applied in Hawaii. The last indicates many more programs under the first.
For a solution to this tricky letter game be sure to attend your JUNE unit. An excellent film on Hawaii's EOA (there it is again) programs will be shown. Be thinking of your reactions to such questions as:
Your resource committee will be available for questioning regarding their interviews with Walter Chun, Director of Hawaii's OEO; Dr. Clarence Masumotoya, in charge of federally financed programs in the Department of Education; and Al Lolatei of the Job Corps.
