How Can You Contribute to Assure Good Constitution Convention Delegates?

  1. As a League member you are equipped to take the initiative. Give a coffee in your home for some or all of the candidates running in your particular precinct combination.

  2. As a member of a Unit, or as Unit Chairman, you can promote a Unit effort to plan and carry out a Candidate Forum for the At-Large Candidates in your District.

  3. If you belong to any other organization (church, PTA, service club, or even bridge club) encourage others to give a coffee or have Candidates at their meetings, Or work with one of these groups together with your League Unit to organize a larger Candidate meeting.

Your VOTER SERVICE COMMTTEE stands ready to assist you if you need any information on how to contact the Candidates, or help with format.

Kailua League members please note that the Morning Unit has a Candidate meeting scheduled for:

8th DiStrict At-Large Candidates

Wednesday, May 22, 7:30 P.M.

Emmanuel Episcopal Church

780 Keolu Drive, Enchanted Lake Area, Kailua.

PLAN TO ATTEND AND SELECT THE 5 CANDIDATES TO RECEIVE YOUR VOTE ON JUNE I. TELL YOUR FRIENDS AND BRING SOMEONE ALONG.

VOTER REGISTRATION drive by the League has been a success in terms of filling a need for registrars in the outlying areas on Oahu, Many people have come to the registrar stations specifically because they had seen publicity in the paper or heard on the radio that League members would be in their community. Small business people who cannot leave their establishments to travel into Honolulu during working hours were particularly grateful to have easy access to registrars. People drove to Waipahu from Nanakuli and were amused at the idea that the League registrars from Kailua came to "meet them half way".

Registrations have not had their final count, but are near 1000. But for the League most of these people would not be registered.
