From an interview with Prof. Abraham Kaplan,
Honolulu Star-Bulletin; Tuesday, August 13, 1968.

...Kaplan urged young people, black and white, to reject terrorism and the idea of meaningless protest by following a positive program leading to human rights and social justice.

"One of the most important things for anybody to learn," he said, "for young or old, is that the fact that you feel deeply about something doesn't justify what you thereupon go on to do.

"We have to learn to relate our deep feelings to the objectives, possibilities, resources and means of the total situation.

"That's not just what constitutes maturity, that's what constitutes humanity. That's what it means to be an intelligent human being..."
