The problem is timely not only because it is more obvious and more widely discussed in an election year, but because we as a League may have an opportunity to do something about it very soon. If we can arrive at an informed consensus at our December unit meetings, we will be in a position to express ourselves concerning finance legislation we're sure will come up in the Legislature in January, What does this require of the individual Leaguer? First of all, come to the unit meetings, Dec 10-12. At the meeting, you can obtain the "Facts and Issues—Campaign Finance," recently published by the State League. Read it. (Those of
you holding ethics folders should add this publication to your folder). During the discussion, resist that awful temptation we all have to get sidetracked with the relation of fresh campaign anecdotes and gripes-- let's stick to problems and solutions!
