General Membership Meeting - Wednesday, May 28th 9:30 to 12:00 Noon
For those who are new to the League work in Hawaii, for guests, and for members who may have missed units during the past year, we have arranged a review of League study programs, consensus reached and League action taken on bills related to our areas of agreement. Testimony given before the Legislature and why action was or was not taken on given bills, and what lies ahead for the next year will be discussed. Alice Scott, Legislative chairman, will moderate a knowledgeable discussion.
We will Meet in the Auditorium on the 2nd floor of the Hawaiian Electric Building, King and Richards street. Please use the King Street entrance. We have FREE use of the space. Parking is a bit of a problem (but available). Come early and have coffee in the cafeteria (2nd floor) before 9:30.
Should the Legislature still be in session, we will tour the new State Capitol. After our meeting. If it is not in session we will visit the Courts in the Judiciary building (across the street) and hear an introduction to the court system by Margaret Setliff, a League member and the State Law Librarian. This will complete our
general membership meeting and the last scheduled League meeting
until September. Try and join us for this outstanding meeting!
