What's New and Coming?

The following proposals in the Senate, House, and City Council: (1) established DH crater as a public recreational center; (2) acquisition of lands for DH monument area; (3) explore and encourage new means whereby there may be fuller utilization of DH's scenic, historical, and cultural qualities by the residents and the visitors of Hawaii; (4) proposed scenic zoning district for DH; (5) height restriction for development in the area; (6) a review committee for exceptions to restriction standards. WHAT'S NEEDED...... a few bodies or ears as it may be:

...to sit in on the DH Association meetings a few times a year.

... to keep in touch with the community "vibrations' and inform us.

Would YOU volunteer a few of these hours, perhaps the subject comes close to your own DOORSTEP or your WINDOW VIEW OF DIAMOND HEAD.

With our re-understanding of our original consensus, we have a little more room to voice our supportive stand the League of Women Voters of Honolulu supports the preservation of DH as a historical, cultural, and scenic site, with minimum development of the DH area and with the residential area on the makai side of DH road eventually converted to park use CALL DEE WITH YOUR RESPONSES!
