Charter

Have you been reading about the proposed changes in the newspaper?

After the primary the complete rewording will be printed in one of the newspapers. Also a summary. So far the League has spoken to the Charter Commission on our first consensus position (June 1971 Voter) and on the recent consensus on planning (June 1972 Voter). We have re- viewed the proposals and find that they are in keeping with our positions on- balance of power, inclusion of the Ethics ordinance, changes in the amendment procedures; and an attempt is being made to increase citizen input through various proposals in the planning sections, plus creation of neighborhood councils.

THUS THE BOARD HAS VOTED TO:

  1. Urge that everyone vote on this issue.

  2. Help the commission sponsor the charter.

  3. Take action in support of our position on the council apportionment: mix of at-large and district.

WE NEED YOUR HELPS YOUR IDEAS! YOUR WOMAN POWER!

Call the office or Dee at home.
