Fund Raising Is Everybody's Job

Item #1 The Kailua Book Sale held on June 9th was the first attempt at a unit fund raising project. As the profits netted were about $30 it is safe to say the project was not the success that its planners had hoped, but they did take a big step, and the evaluation will help develop suggestions to help other units.

Item #2 As it has been apparent that fund raising cooperation between State and Local (Honolulu) Leagues would be to both's advantage there was appointed an Ad Hoc Committee to Develop Fund Raising Guidelines under the most able leadership of Betsy Tan, including Barbara Wiebenga, Ruth Snyder, Rhoda Miller and Lottie Unterman. Their most complete report laid the groundwork for effective joint efforts. The report is available in the Secretary's file.

Item #3 The primary recommendation of the Ad Hoc committee was the establishment of a Joint Fund Raising Advisory Committee to evaluate finance proposals and projects, make' recommendations to both Boards, oversee joint fund raising projects and aid in avoiding the proliferation of fund raising events to minimize women hours spent in fund raising.

This committee is being chaired by Karen Hemmeter and includes Edna Shoup, Nancie Perea, Dade Costello, Claudia Patil, Lottie Unterman and Rhoda Miller.
