From the PresidentI'm delighted to be getting to units to see all of you and meet new people. I hope that the campaign finance units will be very well attended; this is a critical issue, made more important with each day's news cast. The discussion should be lively; the results of our discussions will be sent to national, meshed with the thousands of other opinions and used in a concerted national lobbying effort. Each of us will benefit from participating in this consensus and will in turn gain from the ensuing action. Nothing could possibly be more timely. The October units on Action have been aimed at increasing your awareness of the relationship between study and follow-up. Action is the life blood of the League and occurs on a wide variety of levels. Each of us has a part in action from talking public issues with our neighbors to writing letters to Congressmen in response to Time for Actions to testifying on League positions. Action is such a satisfying experience. Try it and see. Diane |
