Q. How can I avoid getting all the "junk mail" that comes to our house every day? It must be an added post office cost to deliver all that, and we don't want any of it--F.B.
A. The Direct-Mail Advertising Association offers a special service to help with this problem. You can get from them a simple form which you make out and return to them in their "Mail Preference Service ". Your name and address will then be scratched from the mailing lists of all DMAA's 1,600 members which account for 65% of all direct-mail advertising in this country. This won't eliminate all, but will cut it way down. For a form to ask for
this service write: Direct- Mail Advertising Association/ 230 Park Ave. New York, N.Y. 10017.
