Pick Ups. Limited is now three years old. In three years they have recycled: 250 tons of steel cans and 10 tons of aluminum cans. In one year since they began recycling newspaper they have recycled over 500 tons of newspaper. This saved 8,500+ trees, Keep on saving newspapers and cans. Volunteers are needed for one Saturday out of six at pick up stations.

A ton of mixed refuse can be converted into between 1 and 2 barrels of oil depending on contents and process. At that rate, 2,000 to 4,000 barrels of oil are being wasted per day in Hawaii in municipal refuse alone.
