Candidates' Fair

...A first-time event for Honolulu and our League. Help combat professional image making in politics by supporting this opportunity for voters and candidates to meet face to face. Here are the ways to help: Pick two or more!

  1. Use your bumper stickers and give one to a friend.

  2. Help distribute posters. (Call Maury at 262-5684.)

  3. Collar candidates when they come to your door and extract a promise that they will be there, (Mention that their opponents will .be.)

  4. If you are working for a candidate, be sure your man/woman has responded ''yes" to our letter.

  5. Telephoners needed for calling candidates on October 6, 7, and 2. (Practice by calling Gretel at 734•0804 to volunteer.)

  6. Be a Fair worker and help decorate, show candidates to their booths, lead the public to its candidates, etc. Pick a shift; 10:00•1:30, 1:30-5:00, 5:00-8:30. (Call Gretel again - 734-08004.)

HELP...the League needs...YOU! You won't regret it. Involvement leads to personal growth and ENRICHMENT

There have been these exciting developments:

--We have the enthusiastic support of both Democratic and Republican party leaders.

--The Madrigal Singers and. Al Harrington will make appearances (not necessarily simultaneously).

--One candidate, called the Fair "the best idea" he had heard of for debt ting candidates and voters together.

Shifts at the Fair will be as follows:

10:00-1:30—House candidates from Leeward, North Shore and Windward (Districts 19 through 26) and all City Council candidates 5:00-8:30—House candidates from. West Honolulu to Hawaii Kai (Districts! 7 through 18)
