Annual Meeting Report

At Annual Meeting, members adopted next year's program basically as presented in the March VOTER. Planning, transportation and local government programs continue for study and action. We also adopted three new studies. The study on Impact of Federal funds on City government was adopted as written and presented. The City Council study was adopted with the proviso that it not be limited to only those areas suggested by the Board. The Task Force on Citizen Participation in Government study was adopted. omitting a phrase regarding "institutionalization" of the process of citizen participation. Some members felt the phrase too ambiguous and superfluous.

With the adoption of this ambitious program we are putting high priority on local items. All committees need new members... join now!

Due to our move to a new office, a number of changes were made in the budget approved at Annual Meeting.. Our total expenditures are increased to $11,986, with an increase of rent to $3,432 yearly, and an addition of $100 for excessive parking fees incurred by Board members. We will not pay for electricity and maintenance, but did have to add $200 in moving expenses to our operating costs.

On the income side, the Education Fund share of office expenses was increased to $1,272 while the amount needed from savings to balance the budget was decreased to $970. Please make these changes on your copy of the budget (in the March VOTER).
