Units
What Is the League Doing?

The cover page and the President's Message discuss Unit program. The following two Units have special instructions:

HONOLULU MORNING UNIT will meet at Kate Kortschak's in Manoa and members have some directions to follow. Take Manoa Road and turn left on Aleo Place which is the 2nd left after the Manoa/East Manoa fork. Turn left again on Ferdinand. 2428 has a very steep driveway. Hugo Kortschak will be waiting for you and will ferry everyone up the hill. Please call if you're planning to attend so that Kate can make the necessary arrangements. It's not necessary to tip Hugo!

The HONOLULU EVENING UNIT is a new experiment in response to working members who can't make any of the other Units. One member said, "By the time I get home, prepare a meal, etc., and then contemplate driving again to a meeting, it is just too exhausting."

Even non-working members can understand that feeling. So we're trying an after-work 5:00 meeting and Nancy Edwards has graciously offered her well-appointed office. But the timing is crucial. Read the following carefully:

The building is secured at 5:15, so you must arrive before that. If you can't, call Nancy in the evenings at home to coordinate. If you arrive before 5:00, the there's metered parking on Beretania. Free parking is available after 5:00 in the building's parking lot. The meeting is planned for one hour, 5:15 - 6:15.

Make an extra effort if you want this Unit to "go." If the attendance is poor, we'll call it quits on a HONOLULU EVENING UNIT, and we'd hate to do that!
