Hawaii's 1000 Friends

A new organization modeled after 1000 Friends of Oregon is looking for members. Hawaii's 1000 Friends want our future development planned carefully and within the intent of the law. Their goal is to preserve "our environmental treasures while ensuring that our economy remains sound and stable."

The group will utilize research, legal action, and public education and maintain a full-time staff of attorneys and professional planners. Their organizing principle is that there are a thousand people who are willing to make an annual contribution of $100 to support their work.

For more information, write to Hawaii's 1000 Friends, 1901 Judd Hillside Road, Honolulu, 96822, or call BETTY GORDON, 955-0031.
