Women's Equality Week

WOMEN'S EQUALITY WEEK

August 26 marks the sixty-third anniversary of America's women's struggle to claim the right to vote, with the passage of the 19th Amendment in 1920.

In 1974, Public Law 93-392 was passed, granting special recognition of this historical milestone for women. This year, the week of August 21 has been proclaimed "Women's Equality Week."
