News about Our Members

It's a baby boy for Linda Lai Hipp and her husband, Jason. This newest addition to the League family was born on October 11, weighing 7 pounds, 5 ounces. Congratulations!

League Legislative Chair, Marion Saunders, was one of nine members elected to the Board of the International Association of East-West Center Alumni. Busy Marion's going to be busier than ever.

****************************** Our newest member resides in Germany.

While Hedwig Cliche was visiting her daughter, Mrs. Costello, she attended League's August 26th membership meeting. Dottie Gullicksen sent her (and all nonmembers who at-tended that meeting) a letter inviting her to join League. She was quite impressed by Dot-tie's eloquent description of League activities and decided to support our work although, obviously she cannot attend any of our meetings. (She may prove to be an invaluable asset to Dottie's committee on International Relations.)

Hedwig lost her husband in World War II, as did her daughter. She believes that women have a place in promoting world peace.
