President's Message

Vacations have ended, schools are starting up again and so are League activities. Between Voter Service and our regular membership activities, we will all be having a busy Fall!

Do mark your calendars each month when you receive the Voter. The reward planning committees get is a good turnout of members. Your reward will be information and a chance to meet with other interested, and interesting, members.

The Neighborhood Board Committee is looking for your observation .. forms; retrieve your last Voter and comply, please: The committee will be working to put together consensus questions and your forms with impressions of neighborhood board meetings you attended will be helpful when our own discussion meetings occur.

New and "old" members are encouraged to participate at the City/League event on September 7 (Friday). We haven't done this in some time, and the planning has been rewarding. We trust attending will be too!

September will find many of us at Liberty House. Be sure to sign up for a share of time in our booth. We are happy that we were asked to be part of this American promotional; it ties in beautifully with our goal of "MAKING YOUR MARK ON POLITICS".

Get out your picnic basket and join the Bishop Museum/League Candidates' Fair as guests of HONFED's "Family Sunday" on October 7! Bring the family and spend the day on the beautiful Museum grounds, while you volunteer your time on one of the three-hour shifts assisting candidates or helping at our voter education booths, or information tables. It will be an enjoyable time for you and your family… Details are in the article on CANDIDATE'S FAIR!

A committee to begin study on city finance will be formed soon. If you are looking for a study committee, this may be the one for you.

Sharpen your pencils so you can help us add and subtract all the figures. Read the October Voter for details.
