Magnet Schools

Senator Charles Toguchi, Chair of the Education Committee in the Senate and Dr. Margaret Oda, Deputy Superintendent, DOE, shared their recent experience at a Magnet School International Conference in Milwaukee, at a meeting sponsored by the League and the AAUW on July 24th.

Chaired by Marion Saunders, a spirited discussion was held on the question of whether Magnet Schools were in fact the most promising and fast spreading development in public education and on what contribution Magnet Schools could make to education in Hawaii.
