"Issues at Large"
Mark 7 p.m., Mondays in May on your calendars as "Issues at Large" focuses on the proposed increase in building height limits in downtown Honolulu. Some of the issues discussed are the reasons for the proposed increase from 350 to 500 feet; the effects such an increase would have on density, traffic and views from various areas.
William Grant, Executive Director, Downtown Improvement Association, showed some photographs of what the downtown might look like with the new height limits. Other panelists were Marilyn Bornhorst, City Council; and Peter Flachsbart, Associate Professor, Department of Urban and Regional Planning, University of Hawaii. Moderator Jerry Hess, put her extensive experience in land use and environmental planning to good use in directing the questions and discussion of the issues.
The dedicated Leaguers who devote their time to the production of "Issues at Large" has expanded but they can still use more people and encourage anyone interested in T.V. production to contact the League office.
