A tentative date of January 16, 1988, has been set for the Basic Human Needs consensus meeting. In preparation for the consensus, those members who sign up to attend will each receive a copy of the National League publication "Meeting Basic Human Needs: A Crisis of Responsibility."
On Thursday, October 29 at 10:00 a.m., the Basic Human Needs committee members will meet with professors from the College of Health Sciences and Social Welfare, UH, to explore the advisability of including "access to health care" as one of the basic human needs. The meeting will. take place in the conference room of the Biomedical Science Building, T-101, This seven-story tower with a pointed top is located near the end of the East-West Road. All League members are invited to attend this meeting. Call the office so we know how many to expect.
The November issue of the Voter will include the consensus questions accompanied by definitions of some of the terms used. Also included in the November issue will be information on the December 12th Christmas Luncheon which will feature speakers from opposing viewpoints on the question of how much of the financial responsibility for meeting basic human needs should be assumed by the federal government, state government, local government, and private sector,
