I thought that surgery on my right hand and wrist would give me the perfect excuse from vote counting. Ah, but that was not to be. Not if your sister is the president of the League.
"Don't worry, you won't have to use your hands -- just your brains." Those were the famous last words. From day one, it was open envelopes, pick off shads, count odd lots -with time off once to have the bandages changed, and again, to have them removed.
The vote count ended three days ago, but I'm still picking off chads and counting odd lots -- in my nightmares. Miraculously, however, my hand and wrist healed very well.
