Membership Anniversary Dates
After a 6-month hiatus in vote count activity we have two coming up in a row. The first is scheduled for Thursday morning, November 30 at 9 a.m. for SHOPO, located at 645 Halekauwila St. Penthouse. For TheBus riders, take #6 and get off at Queen & Coral Streets. Halekauwila is the next street. For drivers, call the office for parking instructions.
The second vote count is for the UPW on Saturday, December 2 at 9 a.m. at 1426 N. School St. , Ewa of Houghtailing and School Streets with parking at the rear of the building. For TheBus riders, take #2 and get off at Houghtailing and School Streets.
Both vote counts will end at approximately 2 p.m. Lunch will be provided by the unions. For those of you who have never participated in a vote count, these are good starter experiences. The working conditions are comfortable and the work is comparatively easy. These elections are not particularly controversial, so the tensions that permeate some of the other union elections will be absent.
It is important for us to have an idea of the number of participants we will have for these vote counts as soon as possible. The more volunteers we have, the shorter the work period. Please check your calendars and call the office 531-7448 or 537-6267 as soon as you can.
