Teamsters Vote Count

As we promised in May, we will be conducting the Teamsters' tri-annual election of officers this October. Many of you will remember that this is a big one --- and very nervy.

THE DATES TO MARK ON YOUR CALENDAR AND TO REMEMBER ARE

September 26, 27, 30 & October 1, 2

Meet at the League office from 10am-2pm. We will be checking each label against the roster and counting the number of labels-in each zip code in preparation of the mail-out.

October 3 & 4

We will be working at the Federal Bldg. On Oct. 3 from 9am-4:30pm and on Oct. 4 from 9am-1pm conducting the mail-out.

Approximately 6500 envelopes must be stuffed with a ballot and information sheet, properly labeled, bagged and ready to be taken to Bulk Mail at the airport by 1pm on Oct.4.

October 14 - 22

We will meet again at the office, 10am-2pm. We will be forwarding returned mail where possible and sending second ballots to those

Teamsters who for one reason or another did not receive a ballot in the original mail-out.

October 26

We will be working at Kapalama School cafetorium at 1601 N. School St. We will be checking each returned envelope against the roster for eligibility, sorting ballots into. lots, and tallying all votes. Closing time will be determined by the number of ballots returned and the speed and accuracy of the talliers.

For public transit users, the Federal Building can be reached by any number 50's bus, or No. 8, 19 or 20. Kapalama School can be reached by No. 2 (School Street) bus.

Lunch will be provided every day we labor. Morning coffee and rolls will also be provided at the mailout and tally.

Call the office (531-7448) volunteer for as much time as you can give. We need an early indication of the hours and dates you can be available so that we can map out our battle plan.
