Candidates in Focus

'Olelo: The Corporation for Community Television is offering once again "Candidates in Focus," a free programming service to be made available to candidates running for contested public offices serving Oahu.

Candidates will be scheduled for taping sessions at 'Olelo's studio from July 27 through August 14. League has been asked to provide volunteers to greet and guide the candidates through the taping sessions: making sure names are spelled correctly, that speeches are written correctly for the teleprompter, helping them view the several takes and select the best one for airing, making sure all the forms are filled out correctly, etc.

Taping sessions are scheduled to take place from 11:30 a.m. to 5:45 p.m. on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays, and from 9 a.m. to 5:45 p.m. on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays. There will be a one-hour break for lunch or dinner.

We need two volunteers each day. There will be a meeting before the taping schedule commences. Please call the office and leave your name and Jean Aoki will contact you, or call her directly in the evenings at 949-7457.
