Drive-in Registration

League president Jackie Kido has contracted with the Hawaii State Elections Office to conduct its "Drive-in Registration" program. A State-wide project, each local League will service its own county. Honolulu League, within whose boundaries the majority of voters reside, will be doing the lion's share of the work.

During each election period for the past few years, the state has provided for citizens to be able to drop off their registration forms from their cars in front of the State Capitol and other designated locations. In the past, it has proved to be a successful effort as another avenue to facilitate voter registration.

To service this project, the requirements are:

5 persons per day from 7 am to 6 pm, 8/20-22, State Capitol

3 persons per day from 7 am to 6 pm, 8/21-22, Pearl City

3 persons per day from 7 am to 6 pm, 821-22, Windward Oahu

We will need hardy volunteers – hopefully those of you who live within easy access to these sites – to give up your mornings or afternoons or, if possible, the full day for this effort. (Chairs and umbrella cover will be provided) All the city buses services the State Capitol if you're traveling from Diamond Head of downtown toward Ewa.

Please call the office as soon as possible so that we can schedule the required dates.
