State Convention 1999

Margery Bronster will be the luncheon speaker at the State League Convention on May 22 at One Kalakaua, a senior living facility at 1314 Kalakaua. Avenue.

Ms. Bronster will focus on the hot topics of the day like oil prices in Hawaii and the Bishop Estate controversy. She will be available to answer any questions the audience may have.

The convention will begin at 9 a.m. with a business session to introduce and then to adopt the State League budget for the next fiscal year, the program for the next biennium, and to elect the officers and the members of the Board of Directors.

The business sessions will be followed by a short presentation on the living and financial arrangements at One Kalakaua followed by a tour of the facility if time allows. Otherwise, the tour will be provided at the end of the convention.

The lunch at noon will be provided by One Kalakaua.

League members who will not be delegates to the convention are welcome to attend as observers. A limited number may come for lunch and for the presentation on One Kalakaua. The convention fee of $2.00 is payable at the door. Valet parking will be provided gratis by the management. Please be prompt at 9 or 11:15 am for this service. Ms. Bronster will be speaking after lunch. Call the League office early to make your reservations.

The driveway to One Kalakaua is from Young Street. Pedestrians can use the Young Street driveway or the walkway on Beretania Street.

Delegates are advised that the business session may spill over to the afternoon after the Ms. Bronster's address, so delegates please be prepared to stay till about 3:00 p.m.
