A League First

The League is throwing a party! Some of the details aren't available yet like when and where: however, when everything is worked out, we know that it is going to be a strictly social affair & strictly for fun.

We're putting together an event for all Leaguers and their friends to get together for a good time – no speeches, no presentations, no messages, no lessons to impart. There'll be a few just-for-fun activities and maybe even a chance to unload some white elephant-type Christmas gifts.

We're also considering a friendly "roast" directed at one of our political heroes who will be warned in advance.

For this particular event, our only ulterior motive – instead of getting out the vote or supporting an independent judiciary & campaign funding reforms – will be to raise some money for the League in a friendly fun-filled way.

You'll be receiving a personal invitation shortly with all the necessary details, but meanwhile this is where the committee is right now: We know this historic event will occur after Christmas – probably January – and probably will be held between 5 pm and 7:30 pm. The location selected has to be able to accommodate some flexibility since right now we find it hard to estimate just how many friends our League members will want to bring along.

You are forewarned that Something Big Is About To Happen so be sure to look for your invitation.

Mary Anne Raywid
