Honolulu ReportPlanning - League weighed in on the controversy surrounding the proliferation of Bed & Breakfast businesses on Oahu. Transportation - Continuing to monitor and respond to the City's solution to overcrowded highways. Vote Count - Successfully completed an election and vote count for the Neighborhood Commission. Other projects are on the horizon. Voter Service - Election 2008 is a busy season for Honolulu League. We are continuing voter registration while considering radio forums and ConCon events. Women's Health & Safety - The "Drug Policy Study" is ready for review.
League participated in the January Martin Luther King Jr. Parade waving signs which pitched "Register and Vote!" Annual Meeting – Saturday, April 12 8:30 am. will find us enjoying the ambiance of the Waikiki Yacht Club. We will be considering a revised bylaws, a budget for 2008-2009, election of officers, and discussing League's position on the Constitutional Convention. Piilani Kaopuiki |
