Speaking About Contests...The National Board has announced the Sixtieth Anniversary Star-Spangled Nationwide League Membership Contest! Grand prizes of $300.00 will be awarded to local Leagues (in each of seven categories) showing the largest net gain in membership between January 1, 1979 and January 1, 1980. The prize money is to be applied toward Convention 80 expenses. I can think of nothing greater for the Hawaii League than if Hilo, Kauai, and Honolulu won first prize in their categories. Membership growth can't be left to the Membership Chairperson -- it is our job, each and every member of the Leagues Women Voters of Hawaii. Let's make a commitment to great gains in membership and have the three local Leagues of the 50th State Grand Prize Winners!
