LWV in Japan

Six representatives of the League of Women Voters in Japan stopped in Honolulu on their way home from the U.N. Disarmament Conference in New York. We met briefly with them at our office and in Jean King's spacious board room. There are 54 LWV's in Japan; nuclear arms, hazardous waste, corruption of government officials, and women's issues are main study and action items for them; and they're always engaged in fund-raising! Sound familiar?
