"Power"The League of Women Voters is given an "honest" portrayal in the new film "Power", according to a memo from the National League of Women Voters. "Power", which was shown in Honolulu theatres recently, stars Richard Gere and Julie Christie and it depicts the media consultant's powerful role in American politics. The League memo relates, "...the portrayal of the 'Ohio League of Women Voters' debate... maintained the LWV's reputation for fairness to the candidates in the debate process. Without giving away the plot, we can divulge that our role as 'honest broker' for the debates is emphasized by the appearance of the third party candidate in his moment of honesty and histrionics." The memo states, "...we like the film for the issues it raises..."
