 State Board Action
At its July 12 meeting, the state board authorized:
- Concurrence on amendment to League position on campaign finance to include direct as well as indirect public financing of election campaigns for state and county offices
- A more intensive campaign to lobby citizens too oppose a constitutional convention at this time
- League's membership in the Freedom of Information Coalition
- Appointment of Andy Parks of Kauai as off-board chair of the Environmental Protection Committee
- The publication and distribution of 5,000 - 10,000 pamphlets on "Charter Schools" by our Education Committee. (The committee will seek private funding for this.)
