Chair Tokioka, Vice Chair Oshiro, and members,

The League of Women Voters of Hawaii supports HB 855 to allow the state ethics commission a one-year period to dispose of financial interests disclosure statements after expiration of the six-year retention period.

This is a reasonable change that makes sense, allows orderly business practices, and does not carry any inherent risk.

We urge you to pass HB 855. Thank you for this opportunity to testify.
