The League of Women Voters of Hawaii Supports HB 1373 whose purpose is to fund non-profit clinics to provide cost-effective care for uninsured Hawaii residents and ensure that the community health center system remains financially viable and stable as the numbers of the uninsured grow.

The League believers that a basic level of quality health care should be made available to all U. S. Residents.

The League supports increased taxes to finance a basic level of health care for all U. S. residents, provided it contain effective cost control strategies, This includes regional planning for the allocation of personnel, facilities and equipment and allocating medical resources to underserved areas.

We urge passage of HB 1373.

Thank you for the opportunity to testify in support of HB 1373
