Chair Keith-Agaran, Vice Chair Rhoads, and Committee Members:

I’m Janet Mason, Vice President of the League of Women Voters of Hawaii. Thank you for this opportunity to speak on behalf of our members throughout Hawaii.

The League of Women Voters of Hawaii strongly supports sufficient funding for the work of the State’s Reapportionment Commission because all Hawaii citizens desire a representative democracy. We rely on this commission to prepare the boundaries of our voting districts in an accurate and timely way.

We ask that that this bill is passed to assure the Commission can be effective in accomplishing this most important purpose.
