The League of Women Voters of Hawaii supports HB 2565 which would appropriate the necessary sum of money for fiscal year 2006-2007 to provide voter registration and voter information and educational material in printed and electronic formats in the Korean language.
There has been a huge increase in immigrants from Korea, most of whom have not mastered the English language enough to read the informational and educational
material distributed by the Office of Elections.
As we do for major groups of immigrants here, we should do the same for this sizeable group from Korea.
We urge the passage of HB 2565. Thank you for this opportunity to testify on HB 2565.
