TESTIMONY OF SB 424 RELATING TO UIVERSAL HEALTH

We support for SB 424, creating the Hawaii Health Authority.

The current health care system poorly constructed, with little to show from its high costs. It has not and does not cover all for health care needs. The monies we have, if properly managed can provide, studies show, health care for all.

The League of Women Voters position is clear; all persons should have access to basic health care.

The state of Hawaii needs to lead by example by providing health care to all its residents through a comprehensive state health plan.

The creation of the Hawaii Health Authority is essential .

Thank you for allowing me to testify in support of SB424
