Chair Nishimoto, Vice Chair Mizuno, and Committee Members:

The League of Women Voters of Hawaii supports SB 451 which expands the current conflicts of interest section of the State Ethics Code. We think it makes good sense, in order to avoid the appearance of conflict of interest, that state employees be precluded from taking official action that could affect business or financial interests of close relatives -- including parents, siblings, or adult children.

The League of Women Voters of Hawaii urges you to pass SB 451. Thank you for the opportunity to testify.
