League to Sponsor RallyThe October membership meeting of the Provisional League of Women Voters of Honolulu will be a non-partisan rally to be held in the Lincoln School auditorium on Wednesday, October 18, 1950 at 7:30 P.M. Candidates from both political parties are being extended a personal invitation to appear at this rally. Col. Harold W. Kent of the Kamehameha Schools will be the moderator and will give brief biographical sketches of the candidates. Three minutes will be allowed each candidate except the candidates for the office of mayor who will be given five minutes. Candidates will speak in the order of their arrival at the rally. Members of the Voters Service Committee who are working on the details of this rally are Mrs. Fred Forbes, chairman, Mrs. C.J. Birnie, Mrs. C. Joy, Mrs. Fred Kingman, Mrs. John Sanders, Mrs. Robert Smith, and Mrs. Russell Stevens. Leaguers, this is our first venture in making a contribution in the field
of Voters Service. We will want to make this non-partisan rally a success and demonstrate its value both to the candidates and to the voting community.
Let's have a real turn-out of Leaguers and their friends and neighbors!
