Public Relations -- Everyone's Job

The Public Relations Chairman feels that the National League is to be commended for its excellent professional approach to League public relations. "Tips on Reaching the Public", a National publication, says

"If the League were just another club, it wouldn't matter so much whether the public were aware of what we are doing, but the League's primary concern -- to help citizens accept their responsibility for government -- makes it imperative that the League objective be translated into terms which will attract public attention, public interest and public support.

"To do this, public relations should be the concern not only of the Public Relations Chairman, her Committee and the Board of Directors but ideally or every member of the League...

"In the LWV anything that a member does or says which in anyway affects the public's opinion of the organization is a part of the League's public relations. Good public relations is a basis for community action. It means that the people of the community respect the League's opinions and value the League's work."
