Our Job in the Present World Crisis

What is our job in the present world crisis? This is a question many Leaguers are asking and should be asking. As we watch the unfolding of world events, we see an unique opportunity for directing public thinking toward the future, of encouraging the examination of the present situation with a view to arriving at long-range solutions of problems that are the sources of recurrent crises.

What do recent events show us about the deep-lying causes of interpretational conflict?

What are the problems that must be solved if we are to avoid future crises?

What are the means we have at hand to solve these problems?

What United States policies will make maximum use of the available means?

These questions should be the most urgent concern of U. S. citizens now.
