Calendar of Events Agenda Company's Coming Tea for Two Time for Action Public Relations Would You Like to Kokua? (Lila Grossman) Observing at City Hall (Marylee Mitchell) Units -- What Are They? |
Observing at City Hall"What's the program for the show today?" I inquire as I arrive at the City Council Meeting each Tuesday. It's an absorbing program of vital city problems. I'm fascinated as things take on more significance and I learn more facts to determine my decisions. Among the highlights as you know from the papers, recent considerations have been the Manoa Road widening, the Cates investigation into City Purchasing, the Mayor's $1,000,000.00 Revolving Capital Improvement Fund, the Queen's Surf releasing, the Diamond Head rezoning, the Waianae and Windward Master Plan Public Hearings. It's more exciting to be at the show than to read the reviews in the paper. Things are already shaping up for the coming election. As in the past, information will be made available to you through our Voter's Service Committee. Our able Chairman of the Voter's Service Committee, Blanche Smith, is now recuperating from a major operation and will be working with us again soon. I took her place at the City Council meetings recently and assure you it has been a great pleasure, one I'd like to share with all members who can join me at the City Hall each Tuesday at 2:00 P.M.
